तदङ्गकलशपूजा पीठपूजा । यमाय सोममिति मन्त्रेण यमं ( मस्य) षोडशोपचारपूजाङ्कुर्यात् ।
आवाहयामि शमनं चैवस्वतसुतन्तथा । कृतान्तं महिषारूढं धर्मराजं महा ( बलम्) | चित्रगुप्तं महाप्राज्ञं लेखिनीपत्रधारिणम् । कृतान्तकसखं चित्रजीवानां धर्मवेदिनम् ॥ इति यमचित्रगुप्तावाहनादिषोडशोपचारपूजा ।

ब्रह्मोवाच
यमाय धर्मराजाय मृत्यवे चान्तकाय च । मामण्डपदानेन मम पापं व्यपोहतु ॥
अस्मै ब्राह्मणाय माषमण्डपवायनदानं तुभ्यमहं संप्रददे न मम ||

On the Vrata which consists in the worship of Visnu on Sundays in the month of Kartika. This is generally conducted at the foot of an Amalaka tree (Embelio Myrobalan). The observ ance of the Vrata is considered to have the power of leading one to salvation. In the case of a woman, this Vrata is considered to have the power of bestowing prosperity on her and of making her the mother of many children.
