5649 The repetition of this Mantra consisting of Vedio Ķks is intended to propitiate the goddess Mahālakṣmi.
The Vedic Ķks here given go by the name of Brisūkta, for which see under Nos. 17 to 22 ante. Beginning:
अस्य श्रीहिरण्यदेवीसूक्तमहामन्त्रस्य श्री आनन्दकर्दम ऋषिः, श्री. चिक्लीत ऋषिः, श्रीमाता ऋषिः, आधास्तिस्रोऽनुष्टप् छन्दः, चतुर्थी वृहती छन्दः, पञ्चमषष्ठौ त्रिष्टुप् छन्दः, सप्तम्यष्टम्यावनुष्टुप् छन्दः, शेषाः प्रस्तारया पतिश्छन्दः, हिरण्या देवता, मम श्रीहिरण्यमहालक्ष्मी. प्रसादसिद्धयर्थे विनियोगः । End:
श्रीं क्लीं श्रीं तां म आ वह श्रीं जातवेदो लक्ष्ममिनपगामिनीम् । यस्यां हिरण्यं प्रभूतं गावो दास्योऽश्वान् विन्देयं पुरुषानहम् ।
यश्शुचिः प्रयतो भूत्वा जुंह(जुहुया)दाज्यमन्व(हम्) । श्रियः पञ्चदशर्चञ्च श्रीकामः सततञ्जपेत् ।। सक्तुमिव तितउना पुनन्तो मनसो वाचमक्रत । यत्रा सखायस्सख्यानुजानते भद्रैषां लक्ष्मीनिहिताधिवाचि ॥
