A DESCRIPTIVE CATALOGUE OF
On the ceremonial touching of certain parts of the body, while repeating at the same time the series of Mantra-formulas obtained by introducing the successive letters of the alphabet between the words ओं and नमः. Ten Matṛkanyasas are mentioned herein and most of these have been explained already in the descriptive notices relating to them.
Beginning :
शिवादिसर्वमन्त्राणामादौ न्यासविधौ विधिः । दशधा मातृकान्यासस्सिदिश्शम्भुरब्रवीत् ॥ शुद्धं बिन्दुयुतं विसर्गसहितं हृल्लेखया श्रीयुतं बालासंपुटितं तथैव परया श्रीविद्ययालङ्कृतम् । आरोहादवरोहतश्च सहितं न्यासं पुनर्हसयोः
मालिन्या दशधा विभज्य कुरुते साक्षात्स एकश्शिवः ॥ तत्रादौ शुद्धमातृकाविधिर्लिख्यते
अस्य श्रीशुद्धमातृकान्यासमन्त्रस्य ब्रह्मा ऋषिः, गायत्री छन्दः, श्रीशुद्धमातृका सरखती देवता, व्यञ्जनानि बीजानि खराः शक्तयः, afक्तयः कीलकं, श्रीशुद्धमातृकान्यासे विनियोगः ।

ओं अं (अ) नमः शिरसि । इति मातृकास्थानेषु न्यसेत् ॥
