A DESCRIPTIVE CATALOGUE OF
This is said to occur in the Sanatsujätasamhita in the Uttarakhanda of the Skanda Purana.
This describes the origin of the Vaisya caste and explains the duties of Vaisyas in the Kaliyuga. The subject is introduced as a conversation between Vaisyamuni and Sälankayana. A list of the contents of the chapters is given at the end.

अत्यन्त पुण्यनिलये नैमिशारण्यनामके । महर्षिमण्डलैर्जुष्टे ब्रह्मघोषानुघोषिते ॥ तमालचूतपुन्नागतिलकाशोककाञ्चनैः T: 1 अश्वत्थमन्मथप्लक्षमधूकाद्यैर्महानगैः || सर्वर्तुपुष्पितैस्सान्द्रैः फलिनैस्सर्वदा शुभे । पारेजलं महानद्याः सरस्वत्या महाश्रमे ||

आरेभिरे महासत्रं मुनयो ब्रह्मवादिनः । वसिष्ठो गालवो व्यासः शुकश्शक्तिः पराशरः ||

समूहीभूय ते सर्वे कुर्वन्तस्तत्रमुत्तमम् । दीक्षिताश्शमसम्पन्ना वल्कलाजिनधारिणः || ददृशुस्तपसां राशिं सूतं पौराणिकोत्तमम् ।
र्थपरिशीलिनम् ॥
तं दृष्ट्वा मुनयस्सर्वे प्रत्युत्थाय मुदान्विताः । यथावच्चक्रुरातिथ्यमर्घ्यपाद्यादिपूर्वकम् ॥ निवेशयित्वा तमृषिं विष्टरे कुशमण्डिते । समासीनास्ततस्ते च पप्रच्छुः कुशलं स्थितम् ॥
