(xxxiii) Ga:lalhaza is repnte l as the author of 18 works on Smrti each of which has got the distinguishing te m'arr'. Besi:les 'Achara sara' the following other works are referred to in his Kalas ara, e. g.- TAIT STARITZTEIC TITAIT (70). In his 'TTITAIT two other new works e.g., "Ficait' an l 'alaall' are als ) referred to (71). Thus the names of the following eight works by Gadachara are definitely known (1) 31GITAIT, (2) FIZEIT, () igart, (4) Traait, (5) ATEIT, (6) fargent, (7) AFFITEIT, (8) FARFAIT, The names of other works are not yet known. Catlacihara Rajaguru who was a profound scholar an:l had vast knowledge in different branches of Dharmasastra wrote 18 Smsti digests called 'are' in imitation of the celebrated Smsti writer Narasimha Vajapeyi, the author of 18 q r's whom he wanted to excel by his achievement. The ambition of his life was fulfilled as his two works IAIT, and attatt pushed other works on the same subject to the background and are being recognised as standard works through ouit Orissa since the time of their compilation till these clays. VASUDEVA RATHA: Vasudeva Ratha, son of Kasinatha Ratha, who was a younger contemporary of Galadhara and an inhabitant of the same village competed with the latter in the work of compilation of Dharmasastra. He is repuzted as the author of 18 works each having the terir TFIST' as its ending e. g., Pag.137', -9107$17, Atatal 121, yaaart 1, 405 lt,ete: We have got the manuscripts of 'HTT *17' and 'yaagattgrt' in our collectior.. A portion of his 'Flag 157 has been published by the Asiatic Society of Bengal.
