(xiii) The passage at the end of Sulvavarttika states that this work was composed in Samvat 1491 or 1434 A. D. His Kundamandapalakshana was composed in Sanvat 1506 or 1449 A, D, and his Naciparikshi was CON):9.1 in Sarnvat 150.1 0: 1417 A. D. This short paper is valuable as it gives some exact dates in the life of Rama Vajapeyi. Dr. P. V. Kane gives the names of the following works by Rama Vajapeyi, some of which he thinks to be different names of the same works (23) e. g. -Fog fanforgal, FIFAETT GET, FT3TT. विधि, कुण्डमार्तण्ड, कुण्डाकृति, कुण्ड लक्षण and कुण्डलक्ष म विवृति / Kundakati was written by Rama Vajapevi in 1449 A. D. while living in the Naimisharanya at the bidding of prince Ramachandra of Ratnapur. Rama Vajapeyi also wrote a commentary on TITET faon at the behest of king Ramachandra of fragt (24) Ramachandra, son of Surya Dasa, son of Siva Dasa, son of Sridhara Malava who wrote a commentary on 'शांख्यायन गृह्यसूत्र' called गृह्यसूत्र पद्धति or 'आधान पद्धति' (25) was certainly identical with Rama Vajapeyi, as the forefathers of both are the same. From the discussion made above it is clear that Ramachandra Vajapeyi, who flourished in the last quarter of the 14th century and the 1st half of the 15th century was a versatile scholar and prolific writer on various suljects. But he was mostly renowned as a writer of Dharmasastra works through ont India. King Ramachandra of Ratnapur who is mentioned in the Figlia and Catharell by Rama Vajapeyi may be identified with Ramachar dra or Ramarleva, father of Haribrahmadova, wboge Khalari and Raipur inscriptions daten in Vikrama Samvat 1470 and 1458 respectively have been published. (26) As these two ingcriptions were written in 1414 A. D. an. 1402 A. D. during the reign of Haribrahina Deva, his father Ramachandra may be assigned to a period prior to 1402 A. D.
