The Bhagavadgitā
The Bhagavadgītā is a very valuable philosophical work as it contains important philosophical elements. It seems to have more leanings towards Advaitism as it believes in the Brahman as the only ultimate Reality. It also shows its affinity with the Samkhya system for it recognises the duality of Prakrti and Purușa. It also includes many elements of the Yoga philosophy. It speaks of the Brahman as the creator, sustainer, and destroyer of the world. It preaches a kind of pantheism by saying that everything is pervaded by the Brahman (God) and that everything is generated by it. Similarly, it holds that the world is a modification (f) of God or the Brahman itself. Sometimes it seems to hold that from the Prakṛti the whole world is created with the help of the power of Maya and that the Atman is different from and unaffected by all the changes in the Prakṛti.
