Subject.-- A story of Candralekha. It points out the advantage of
practising sāmāyika, the ist of the four disciplinary vows
( śikṣāvratas ) meant for the Jaina laity. Begins'.- fol. Ends. - fol. 23° भखंडवत च नातं ततोऽहं नियम न स्यजामि एवं चिंतयंत्या तस्याः ।
कर्मक्षयकृतो ज्ञानं केवलमुत्पदे तत आसनसुरैलिंगे अर्पिते पंचमुष्ठिलुचनं बिधाय गृहीतयतिवेषा सुरकृतकांचनकमले निविधष्टा लोकोनां धर्ममुवाच तया ग्यंतर्या क्षामिता दुर्ललितप्रमुखं लोकं प्रतिबोध्य 'शत्रुजय'गिरौ शिवं गता॥

ने नमत्रिजग तुवी(वी)रस्याग्रिमसूनवे । समस्तलब्धिमाणिक्यरोहणायेंद्रभूतये ॥१॥ पादाभोज भगवतो गौतमस्य नमस्यतां । वशीभवति त्रैलोक्यसंपदो विगतापदः॥२॥ etc.
1 The Academio Supdt. informs me as under :
"Between fol. 18b to fol. 23b of 1339 of 1886-92 there is no indication as to where महापद्मकथा ends and where चन्द्रलेखाकथा begins and it will not be possible to copy out the untraceable material".
