Author.- Nandisena according to the tradition. He is said to be ; a pupil of Lord Mahāvīra. Some believe that he is a
disciple of Lord Neminātha. The latter view is expressed by Dharmaghosa Suri in his Satruñjayakalpa and by Jina: prabha Sūri in his Vividhatirthakalpa (Satruñjayatirthakalpa, p. 2). The pertinent verses are as under
नेमिवयणेण जत्तागएण जहि नदिसेणसणिवइणा। विहिअ(ओ) अजितसंतिथओ जयउ तयं पुंडरियतित्यं ।।
-Vide Vividhapraśnottara (p. 65) "श्रीनेमिवचनाद् यात्रागतः सर्वरुजापहम् । ... नन्दिषेणगणेशोऽत्राऽजितशान्तिस्तवं व्यधात् ।।"
