1887-91 Size - 114 in. by 45 in. Extent - 197 leaves; 12-15 lines to a page ; 40-45 letters to a line. Description - Thin country paper ; Devanāgari characters; not very
old in appearance; handwriting of the Text bold, of the Comm. small, clear, legible and uniform; red pigment used for marking; the Ms. contains adhyayas 1-22; both the Text and the Commentary complete.
The date of composition according to the chronogram is Samvat 1868 = A. D. 1812. This date contradicts the date of the copy. The chronogram should therefore, be read as महिषड्योर्वी and not अहिषडहयोर्वी. In the former case the date comes to be Samvat 1768 i.e. A. D. 1712 (ct. Winternitz's
history of Indian literature Vol. III, p. 571 ). Age - Samvat 1828. Author of the Text - Kalidäsa.
