Description.- Country paper; Devanagari characters; hand-writ
ing good ; double rows of two lines and one line in red ink on each border ; benedictory phrase and marks of punctuation in red ink; topic-headings, names of authori. ties quoted tinged with red pigment; paper old, musty, worn out and worm-eaten in the centre of bottom margin. Fol. 18 is missing.
A work of this name is described by Mitra in his Notices of Sanskrit Mss., Vol. IV, pp. 197-8, where the contents also are given. The present Ms. is but a fragment. Mitra observes- " A handbook of Vaisnava religious duties, diurral, periodical and optional, including the several feasts and fasts enjoined in the Vaisnava calendar". Our Ms. seems to form the 49th chapter of the work (see colophon on fol. 25) and a part of the next chapter. It quotes many Tântric works, most usual being फेत्कारिणीतंत्र, for which see Aufrecht's Oxford

श्रीगणेशाय नमः॥ फेत्कारिणीतंत्रे ॥
अथातः संप्रवक्ष्यामि पुण्यं वै दक्षिणाविधि । सर्वसिद्धिप्रदं साक्षान्महापातकनाशनं ।। देवैर्देवत्वविधये सिद्धैः खेचरसिद्धये । पत्नगै राक्षसमर्मुनिभिश्च मुमुक्षुभिः ।। कामिभिधनिभिश्वार्थलिप्मुभिः सेवितं सदा। .
देवी दक्षिणसंज्ञां तां प्रवक्ष्यामि यथा विधि ॥ उत्तरतंत्रे ॥
वर्गायायं वह्नियुतं रतिबिंदुसमन्वितं। त्रिगुणं च ततः कूर्चयुग्मलज्जायुगं ततः ।। दक्षिणे कालिके चेति पूर्ववच्च ततः पुनः।
ठहयेन समायुक्तं मंत्रमेनं विदुर्बुधाः ॥ etc. .. Ends.- fol. 26
