Preface
All these varieties and sub-varieties are elucidated by Abhaya. deva Süri in his commentary ( pp. 2118-212a ) on this Thāņa.
Haribhadra Suri in his Samaràïccacariya ( bhava 1, p. 13) divides narratives into the following four groups:
***FUT, TAFSI, TAFEI & RITTEET ( HERMOSEMI)
Uddyotana Süri alias Dākṣiṇyacihna Sūri mentions in his *Kuvalayamala (89) three varieties of narratives viz. $987, 39797.and FIAT and four sub varieties of dharmmakaha as noted in Thāna (s. 282). In $7 he however mentions five varieties of narratives as below:
#TJEET ( Eur), KOTFET (BUTEU), 7914661 (terTEN), arrarheor (RFETESTI ) & at|( 5TIFU ).
This Suri has here ($ 7) mentioned 'sankiņņakaha', 100.
Siddhasși points out the following classification of narratives in his Upamitibhavaprapañcākatha ( prasıāva I; p. 2):

Hemacandra Súri in his Kávyānuśasana ( VIII, 8 ) has defined" katha". Khandakatha and sakalakatha are mentioned by him in his Alankaracudāmaņi wbile commenting upon this Kāvvänuśäsana ( VIII, 8 14. Here he has referred to Indumati as kbaņdakathā and to Samarādityakatha ( Samarāïccacariya ) as sakalakatha'.
It is desirable that narratives dealt with in all the three parts of Section II of Vol. XIX should be classified by taking into account their forms of presentation. Consequently I group these
