This is the third chedasútra. It deals with prescriptions and interdictions. In short it points out what Jaina saints ought to do and what they are expected to refrain from; in case of violating the prescribed rules, they have to go in for prayaścittas (expiations). This chedasūtra is utilized in composing Gacchacara.' and it has some portion in common with Niśithasutra.2
