religion and ethics. Also there are some the sole aim of which is nothing but diversion while in some the picture of an average public life is found portrayed. Even the so-called literary persons have no idea of this sort of vast literature, then what to talk of an ordinary student of Indian culture? It is my ardent desire to publish some such collections of story works in the Singhi Jain Series in the near future and I have already begun to prepare some of such works.
I take this opportunity of heartily congratulating Pt. Premiji for inspiring me to publish the present Kathakosa in this series and Dr. Upadhye for adding to the dignity of the series by his superfine edition of the same. I hope the readers and the well-wishers of the series will surely be glad to know that many such works will be published in this series, in course of time, by this veteran scholar and editor.
The founder of the series, Babu Śrī Bahadur Singhji Singhi and I also express our heartfelt gratitude to the university of Bombay for giving an adequate financial help in the publication of this work, in response to Dr. Upadhye's request and I hope it will continue the same with increased goodwill in our publications of works bearing on Indian culture.
