On P's sankaja, prakafa and utkata ( 5.2.29 ), Ptj says that the meanings conveyed by these were respectively sangata, pragata and udgata (II.375 20f.). Does it suggest an actual usage in the speech than showing decerebralisation ? 2. krs- > kasa- noted by Pej is already mentioned. C-3. Consonant Clusters (a) jy > i 1. It is already mentioned that scholars are inclined to derive from rajy (through raji ). 2. (e) dy > PV In an interesting passage in M (1.11. 11 14), P records the style of some ritual scholars uttering the phrase yar va maḥ and tar va naḥ, though only in informal situations; while in formal (ritual) situations they would be particular to utter those 28 yad ya nah and tad va nah.
