For our country, creativity and innovation-the beneficial kind, not the malignant kind-are essential for the rapid and inclusive growth of our economy, and for the transformation of our society in ways that enhance the quality of life. We have by now a reasonable knowledge platform for speeding up creativity and innovation at all levels, But people in a democracy need to know that this can be done, so that they and their representatives can exert the necessary pressure at various levels to do the needful.
