________________ માલવાહન During the intervening periods, he has been continuing the editing of a more reliable fresh edition of the Trišaştiśalākāpuruşacarita, started by Muri Sri Carañavijaya who died in 1938. Three volumes are already published. In 1951, he edited and published several rare illustrated wooden book-covers from Jesalmer, in a book entitled, Jesalmer ni Citrasamyddhi. This shows that he not only realises the value of art, but also has an interest in it and an eye for it. One of his very important publications is the Critical text of the Kalpa-sutra with Niryukti, Cūrņi, Tippaņa and Gujarati translation, entitled Pavitra Kalpa-sūtra, and published in 1952. In this work he published for the first time a rare hitherto unknown cürņi by Agastya-simhasűri which helped scholars to revise their earlier views regarding the beginning of the tradition of writing Niryuktis and Cūrnis. His learned introduction to this work is indispensable for all students of the Jaina canon. The editing and publication of a very obscure text like the Angavijja (composed in c. 4th cent. A.D.) from only a few corrupt manuscripts was a feat which only a scholar of his calibre could perform in editing such an early Prakrit text in which several readings and usages differ from later Prakrit readinos etc, This work which is a great nine of data about the culture of India of the late Kushāņa-Kşatrapa and enriy Gupta period, was published, in 1961, as the first volume of the Prakrit Text Series of the Prakrit Text Society of whom Dr. Rajendra Prasad, the then President of India, was one of the founder members along with Muni Punyavijayaji, Dr. V. S. Agrawala, Acārya Sri Vijayendra Sari. and a few others. In 1961, were also published his editions of the Kirti-Kaumudi of Somesvara and the Sukstasankirtana of Arisimha in one volume in the Singhi Jaina Series, also the Sukyta-kirtikallolini-adi and Vastu pala-Prasastisangraha in another volume in the same series, and Ullagha-Raghava-Nataka of Someśvara (edited jointly with Dr. B. J. Sandesara) in the G. 0. Serics. In the Gaekwad Oriental Series, he has published (1961, 1966 A.D.) his two volumes of the Catalogue of Palm-leof manuscripts in the Santinātha Jaina Bhandara at Cambay. Catalogue of Sanskrit and Prakrit manuscripts in the collections of Muni Punyavijayaji are published (1963, 1965, 1968) in three volumes in Lalbhai Dalpatbhai Bharatiya Samskriti Vidya Mandir Series. In 1965 was published his edition of the Yogaśatakam of Haribhadrasūri (with author's own comm.) in the same L. D. Series, and the Ramašatakam of Someśvara (with 3 commentaries, jointly edited with Dr. B. J. Sandesara) in the G. O. Series, Baroda. Last year (1968) he has published in the L. D. Series, his interesting edition of Nighanfu-sesa of Ācārya Hemacandra with hitherto unpublished commentary of Srivallabhagani containing several words of local contemporary usage noted by the commentator.
