Life in Calcutta
Life in Calcutta Dances on the edge of Sword. Buds and flowers, Free from cares, though Seem rolling on the road Kiss the dust, as if a must A slightest slip of leg or tongue Invited the knife, in the heart. The time breakers, Reckless, moving on the road Break the silence Like spasms in the dust. The twinkling stars, set before the day All store at from long Whisper who he or she was; The death roars and passes on No one dares to set eyes upon All shrink to their own, become blind Before the death's naked dance. A mob gathers, blows its horn A hoasty look, and are gone; Others come to fill in the gaps; Offer the wailing sheet of pity and love The departing soul cries But who will cover the risk Of law, order and police?
