Tributes to Acharyashri from Foreign Personnel

Param Pujya Acharya Shri 108 Shantisagar Maharaj was the greatest personality in the Digambar Jain Community. He was admired due to his holy and noble personality in India as well as in foreign countries also. It is my great pleasure to put foreign personnel's expres sion about Acharya Shri Shantisagar Maharaj.
1. Prof. J. B. S. Haldane, England.
I regret that I have no first hand knowledge of the work of Acharya Shantisagar Maharaj. Nevertheless I realise that in an age where violence is increasing, men whose whole lives are a non-violent protest against violence are greatly needed. I also realise that the attitude of the Jains to animals is one which can lead to important advances in Biology. It is extremely difficult to make observations of certain kinds on them unless you love them, and recognize that they are our kin. May I venture to hope that some Jains may take the study of animal behaviour, if only to convince those who cannot accept all the views of Mahavira that men have duties even towards fish and insects. For these reasons. I join in greeting Acharaya Shantisagar.
