Introduction of Dr. Sagar Mal Jain by S.L. Jain (Joint Secreatary)
Dr. Sagar Mal was born at Shajapur nagar (M.P.) in 1931. His father Sh. Raj Mal Ji and mother Smt. Gangabai Ji were of religious minded from the childhood he had blessings of Jain saints so his development and growth was under the religious atmosphere. There was no high school in Shajapur so he got his admission in Anglo Vernacular middle school in Gwalior and he passed his 8th class in 1st grade and stood 1st in shajapur district. He could not continue his further studies for sometime as there was no high school in shajapur and being the elder son his parents desired that he should join the family business, so he joined the family sarafa business. At the age of 17 he was married, inspite of his marriage and engagement in business his desire for higher education wa suppermost in his mind.
In 1925 he joined Sahitya Sammelan, Prayag and passed Vyapar Visharad exam. In 1954 he passed Sahitya Ratna in Arth Shastra. In 1955 a private High School started in Shajapur but he could not get the admission due to heavy burden of business and family but even then in he as aswadheiye student passed the exam and in 1957 he passed his Inter-Commerce exam. In 1958 he took leading role in opening Balkrishna Mahavidyalya & got admission in it and passed B.A. exam. In 1961 he Joined the Christian college, Indore and passed M.A. exam.
He his served in the following Institution/Associations in different capiacties. 1. Ex. secretary of Madhav Rajat Jayanti Vachnalya, Shajapur. 2. Ex. secretary of Hindi Sahitya Samiti, Shajapur. 3. Ex. president of Kumar Sahitya Parishad. 4. Ex. president of Sadvichar Niketan. 5. Ex. secretary of Jain samaj Shajapur. 6. Ex president of Madhya Pradesh Sthanakvasi Yuva sangh. 7. Ex. secretary of Sarafa Association, Shajapur. 8. As a lecturer of Maharani Lakshmibai mahavidyalaya, Gwalior. 9. As a lecturer of Darshan Shastra in Thakur Ranmat Singh College, Rewa. 10. As a chairman of Darshan Shastra Vibhag in Hamidia college, Bhopal.
He completed his thesis on Jain, Bauddha aur Gita ke Achar Darshan ka Tulamanatmak Addhyayan and got his P. hd degree. He joined Parshvanath Vidyashram in 1979 as a director. He has also associated himself with many Jain Vidya institutions and wherever any Jain institute starts people contact him for advice and guidance. he has also organised and participated in seminars and conferences in India and has been invited by many universities and institutions for delivering lectures in Jainology
