General and Specific Properties of Things.
अर्थाः सर्वेऽपि सामान्यविशेषा उभयात्मकाः ।
सामान्यं तत्र जात्यादि विशेषाश्च विभेदकाः॥३॥ Arthah Sarvepi Sîmánya viseka Ublayatrakáb,
Sâmânyam tatra jatyadi višeşâ cha vibledakâb. -3.
[mai: objects; să all;. ut also ; margin: having general and particular properties; e ht: possessed of both; सामान्य general properties ; तत्र therein; नात्यादि (expressing) : játé (genus), etc., fan: the particular properties; 9 and; Ferie: (are) differentiating).
All objects possess two kinds of properties, viz., (1) Samanya or the generalizing (general), and (2) višeşa or the differentiating (specific) properties ; the general expressing the genus (jali), etc., and the specific expressing the species, differences and . distinctions. .Distinction between General and Specific properties,
