रखते हों तो उनको मैं सहज देता हूँ। इसमें कहीं भी किसी विपयका उद्देश्य नहीं है । और न उनकी इच्छापूर्ति के निमित्त जल देनेसे मिथ्यादृष्टि ही हो जाता है। क्योंकि सच्चे देव, गुरु, शास्त्रसे द्वेष करना और कुदेव, कुगुरु, कुशास्त्र से रति करनेका नाम मिथ्यात्व है । देव शब्दका अर्थ यहाँ पर आप्त है । कुदेव शब्दसे देवगति संवन्धी देवोंसे तात्पर्य नहीं है । इस विषयको अन्यत्र किसी प्रकरण में लिखेंगे | सारांश इतना ही है कि व्यंतरदेव जलकी आशा रखते हैं और वे तृप्त भी होते हैं ॥ ११ ॥

हस्ताभ्यां विक्षिपेत्तोयं तत्तीरे सलिलाद्वहिः । उत्तार्य पीडयेद्वखं मन्त्रतो दक्षिणे ततः ॥ १२ ॥
यह उपर्युक्त श्लोक पढ़कर, हाथमें जल लेकर, उस जलाशय के तीरपर, जलसे बाहर जलकी अंजली छोड़े। इसके बाद वस्त्र उतारकर मंत्रपूर्वक दक्षिण दिशाकी तरफ निचोड़े ॥ १२ ॥
केचिदसत्कुले जाता अपूर्वन्यन्तरासुराः ।
ते गृह्णन्तु मया दत्तं वस्त्रनिष्पीडनोदकम् ॥ १३ ॥
और कहे कि कोई हमारे कुलमें उत्पन्न हुए पुरुष मरकर व्यन्तर या असुर जातिके देव हुए हों तो वे मेरे द्वारा वस्त्र निचोड़ कर दिया हुआ जल ग्रहण करे ॥ १३ ॥
दर्भान्विसृज्य तत्तीरे ह्युपवीती द्विराचमेत् । अनिवस्त्रं सम्प्रोक्ष्य शुचीव इति मन्त्रतः ॥ १४ ॥

परिधाय सुवस्त्रं वै युग्मवस्त्रस्य मन्त्रतः । प्रागेव निमृजेद्देहं शिरोऽङ्गान्यथवा द्वयम् ॥ १५ ॥
उस जलाशयके तीरपर दभाँको छोड़कर यज्ञोपवीतको मालाकी तरह गलेमें लटका कर दो वार आचमन करे । " शुचीव " ऐसा मंत्र पढ़कर पहननेके लिए जो शुष्क वस्त्र पासमें है उसका प्रोक्षण करे । अर्थात्, उसे जलके छींटे डालकर पवित्र करे । पश्चात् युग्मवस्रके मंत्रको पढ़कर कपड़े पहने | और कपड़े पहनने के पहले ही अपने शरीरको अथवा सिरको पोंछ ले ॥ १४ ॥ १५ ॥
तस्मात् कार्यं न मृजीत हाम्बरेण करेण वा ।
श्वानलेह्येन साम्यं च पुनः स्त्रानेन शुध्यति ॥ १६ ॥
कपड़े पहनने के बाद कपड़ेसे अथवा हाथसे शरीरको न पोंछे । क्योंकि बादमें शरीर पोछने से वह कुत्तेके चाटनेके बराबर हो जाता है। और फिर स्नान करनेसे पवित्र होता है । यह भी एक वस्तुका स्वभाव है, तर्क करने की कोई बात नहीं है कि ऐसा क्यों हो जाता है। वस्तुके स्वभावमें क्यों काम नहीं देता है । कोई कहे कि अग्नि गर्म क्यों होती है तो कहना पड़ेगा कि उसका स्वभाव है ॥ १६ ॥
