Traivarṇikācāra.
Reciting this mantra, one sits for defecation. The meaning of this mantra is: "O guardian deities of this region, please forgive me, a person of limited power. Move away from this place - I am going to defecate here." 32.
By the order of the guardian deities, one should sit facing east or north, wearing the sacred thread on the head or ear. 33. One should cast one's gaze in the four directions, upwards or downwards, while defecating, without excessive delay, haste or distraction of the mind. 34.
Thereafter, with the thumb and two fingers of the left hand, one should grasp the front part of the penis and move a little distance. 35. Taking some water from the water body, one should sit appropriately and, placing the hands between the two knees, perform the cleansing with the pure water. 36.
One should not perform the cleansing in the water bodies of the sacred places. One should use the water drawn in a vessel and purified by straining to perform the cleansing. 37. The water vessel should be held in the right hand, and the cleansing should be done with the left hand. After that, one should wash the hands again and perform the cleansing once more. 38.
The reading "gaṃdatāgatirāgarayamanyadhisatvagutsaṇena" is more appropriate.
