Covering the ground with grass, covering the head with cloth, restraining speech, avoiding spitting and heavy breathing, keeping the soles of the feet even, and not bending the back - one who does not perform these actions as prescribed will go to hell. The reason for covering the ground with grass is that the contact of excreta with the earth can lead to the generation of more life forms, and the grass will dry up the excreta quickly, preventing the proliferation of life forms. (29-30)
