पल्या अपि तथाशौचं भवेदेव विनिश्चितम् । पल्याशौचं भवेद्भर्तरित्येवं मुनिरब्रवीत् ॥ ७२ ॥ दूरस्था निधनं भर्तुर्दशाहाच्छूयते वहिः ।
भार्या कुर्याद, पूर्ण पन्या अपि पतिस्तथा ।। ७३ ।। पत्नीकों पतिके मरणका और पतिको पत्नीके मरणका सूतक भी दश दश दिनका है। तथा पैली दूर रहती हो वह अपने पतिका मरणं दश दिन बाद सुने एवं पति दूर रहता हो वह अपनी पत्नीका मरण दश दिन बाद सुने तो दोनों, जिस दिन मृत्युका संवाद सुनें उस दिनसे लेकर दश दश दिन तकका सूतक पालें ॥ ७२-७३ ।।
मातापित्रोर्यथाशौचं दशाहं क्रियते सुतैः।
अनेकेऽब्देऽपि दम्पत्योस्तथैव स्यात्परस्परम् ॥ ७४ ।। . अनेक वर्षों बाद भी माता-पिताका मरण सुनने पर जैसे पुत्र दश दिनतकका संतक पालता है वैसे ही पति-पत्नीको भी परस्परमै दश दश दिनका स्तक पालना चाहिए ॥ ७४ ॥
पितुर्दशाहमध्ये चेन्माता यदि मृता संदा । दहेन्मन्त्राग्निना प्रेतं न कुर्यादुदकक्रियाम् ॥ ७५ ॥ पैतृकादूर्ध्वमेव स्यान्मात्राशौचं तु पक्षिणी ।
विधायोदकधारादि कुर्यान्मातुः क्रियां ततः ॥ ७६ ।। पिताकी मृत्युके दश दिनों में ही यदि माताका मरण हो जाय तो उसके मृतक शरीरका तो . मंत्रामिसे दहन करे परन्तु उसकी उदकक्रिया न करे। पिताके दश दिनोंके पश्चात् माताका पक्षिणी (डेढ़ दिनका) आशौच आता है उस समय उदकक्रिया आदि करके पश्चात् माताकी सब क्रियाएं करे ॥ ७५-७६...
मातुर्दशाहमध्ये तु मृतः स्यादि वै पिता ।
