समय आकाशमै कुछ कुछ लालिमा छा जाय तब वहीं मंडपमें वर और वधूके स्लानके लिए चूर्णके दो आसन खेंचे, उन आसनोंपर दो पट्टे बिछावें। उनपर वधू और वरको बैठाकर क्रिया करें। प्रथम नाई तेल मर्दन करे । पश्चात् जल लान करावे । अनंतर वस्त्र, आभूषण, माला आदिंसे दोनोंको अलंकृत करें। स्नानके समय सुहासिनियाँ मंगल गीत गावें और बाजे बजानेवाले बाजे बजावें.।,
अथ मंत्र:--गंध अक्षत देनेका मंत्र । ॐ सदिव्यगात्रस्य गन्धधारादिक्चक्र सुगन्धं वोभवीति सुगन्धोऽपि निजेन गन्धन मुरादयः सर्वे भृशं जायन्ते गन्धिलाः यस्य पुनस्तंतन्यते ह्यनन्तं ज्ञानं दर्शनं वीर्य मुखं च सोऽयं जिनेन्द्रो भगवान् सर्वज्ञो वीतरागः परा देवता तत्पदोरार्चितप्रार्चितमतिलब्धा अमी गन्धा भाले भुजयोः कण्ठे हृत्पदेशे त्रिपुण्ड्रादिरूपेण भाक्तिकैः प्रश्रयेण सन्धायन्ते ते भवन्तु सर्वस्मा अपि श्रेयसे लाभे ( भाले ) सन्धारिता अक्षता अप्येवं भवन्तु । इति गन्धाक्षतपदानमत्रः।
यह गंध अक्षत देनेका मंत्र है । इसे पढ़कर सबको गंध-अक्षत देना चाहिए । गंधको ललाट पर, दोनों भुजाओं पर, गलेपर और हृदय पर लगावें तथा अक्षतोंको सिरपर धारण करें।
ताली बांधनेकी विधि। रात्रौ ध्रुवतारादर्शनानन्तरे विद्वविशिष्टवन्धुजनैश्च सभापूजा । चतुर्थदिने वधूवरयोरपि महास्नानानि च सपनार्चनाहोमादिकं कृत्वा तालीवन्धनं कुर्यात् । तद्यथा
रात्रिको ध्रुवतारा देखने के बाद विद्वानों और विशिष्ट बंधुजनोंके साथ अन्य उपस्थित मंडलीका सत्कार करे। विवाहके चौथे दिन वर और वधूको महास्नान कराकर और जिनाभिषेक, पूजा होम आदि करके तालीबंधन नामका कृत्य करे। वह इस प्रकार है

ताली करोतु जायाया अवतंसश्रियं सदा ॥ १६१ ॥ मंत्र:-ॐ एतस्याः पाणिगृहीत्यास्ताली वनामि इयं नित्यमवतंसलक्ष्मी विध्यात् ।
इति कन्याकण्ठे तालीवन्धमन्त्रः।
वरके द्वारा दी गई और हलदीसे रंगे हुए धागेमें गुंथी-पिरोई गई सोनेकी ताली, इस वधूके मुख्य अलंकारकी शोभा बढ़ावे । “ ॐ एतस्या: पाणिग्रहीत्या: " इत्यादि मंत्रको पूर्ण पढ़कर . कन्याके गले में ताली वांधे | तथा यह क्रिया विवाहके चौथे दिन करे । अनन्तर नीचे लिखा मंत्र . पढ़कर आशीर्वाद दे ॥ १६१ ॥
