सोमसेनभट्टारकविरचितनहीं है । ऐसा पूर्वाचार्योंका कहना है । कन्याके विवाहके समय नान्दीश्राद्ध हो चुकनेपर यदि कन्याकी माता रजस्वला हो जाय तो उस समय कन्याका पिता कन्यादान करे । इत्यादि जिनेन्द्र देवका कहना है ॥ १२-१५ ॥
शुभे ग्रहे शुभे योगे मौजीवन्धोचितं सुतम् । संस्नाप्य भूषयित्वा तं मात्रा सह तु भोजयेत् ॥ १६ ॥ केशानां मुण्डनं कृत्वा शिखाशेपं तु रक्षयेत् । हरिद्राज्यमुसिन्दूरदूर्वादिकं विलेपयेत् ।। १७ ।। पुनः संस्नाप्य पुण्याहवाग्भिः सिक्त्वा कुशाम्बुभिः । आज्यभागावसानान्तैः सुगन्धिभिविलेपयेत् ॥ १८ ॥ नान्दीश्राद्धं च पूजां च होमं च वाधघोषणम् ।
सर्व कुर्याच्च तस्याग्रे पूर्ववद्गुरुपूजनम् ॥ १९ ॥ मौजीवन्धन करने योग्य बालकको शुभग्रह और शुभयोगमें स्नान कराकर, उसे कपड़े आभूषण पहनाकर माताके साथ भोजन करावे । चोटी छोड़कर उसके केशोंका मुंडन करावे । हल्दी, घी, सिंदूर, दुब आदिका उसके सिरपर लेप करे। उसके बाद उसे फिर लान कराकर पुण्याहवचनों द्वारा कुश और जलसे सेचन कर आध्यभागके अन्तिम सुगन्ध (चंदन) से बालकके लेप करे । फिर इस बालकके सामने पहलेकी तरह नान्दीश्राद्ध, पूजा, होम, और वाद्यघोषण (बाजा बजवाना), गुरुपूजन आदि सब कार्य करे ॥ १६-१९ ॥
आसन्ने सुमुहूर्ते तु ग्रहस्तोत्रादिकं पठेत् । परमेष्ठिनमस्कारमन्त्रं च संस्मरेत्सदा ॥ २० ॥ पद्मासनस्थः पुत्रोऽसौ प्रसाघमुदगाननः। निनिमेषं निरीक्षेत पिनास्यं जन्मशुद्धये ॥२१॥ पुत्रस्य सम्मुखं स्थित्वा तत्पिता सुमुहूर्तके ।
पुत्रास्यं दृष्टवा गन्धेन ललाटे तिलकं न्यसेत् ॥ २२॥ __इसके बाद समीपवर्ती सुमुहूर्तमें ग्रहस्तोत्रोंका पाठ करे। और हमेशह पंचनमस्कारको स्मरण करे । वह बालक उत्तरकी ओर मुख कर पद्मासन (पलाठीमार) बैठकर अपने द्वितीय जन्मकी शुद्धिके लिए निर्निमेष अर्थात् आंखोंकी पलकोंको न झपकाते हुए प्रसन्नतायुक्त पिताके मुखका निरीक्षण करे । बालकका पिता भी अच्छे मुहूर्तमें पुत्रके सामने खड़ा होकर पुत्रके मुखको देखे और उसके ललाटपर तिलक लगावे ॥ २०-२२ ।।
मुअत्रिवर्तिवलितां मौजी त्रिगुणितां शुभाम् ।
कौपीनकटिसूत्रो– कटिलिंगं प्रकल्पयेत् ॥ २३ ॥ __ मंत्र-ॐ हीं कटिमदेशे मौजीवन्धं प्रकल्पयामि स्वाहा । इत्युक्त्वा कटयां त्रिलिङ्गसमन्वितां मौंजी बध्नीयात् ।
