सोमसेनभट्टारकविरचित-- सज्जनेषु परा प्रीतिः पुत्रे सुप्रीतिरुच्यते। .
मियोद्भवश्व देवेषूत्साहस्तु क्रियते महान् ।। ९२ ॥ पुत्र पैदा होनेके बाद, प्रोति, सुप्रीति और प्रियोद्भव क्रियाएं बड़े उत्साहके साथ करे। सजनोंमें प्रीति करना प्रीतिक्रिया है। पुत्रमें प्रीति करनेको सुप्रीतिक्रिया कहते हैं। और देवोंमें उत्साह फैलाना प्रियोद्भव-क्रिया है ॥ ९१-९२ ॥
पुत्रे जाते पिता तस्य कुर्यादाचमनं मुदा।। प्राणायामं विधायोचैराचमं पुनराचरेत् ॥ ९३ ।। पूजावस्तूनि चादाय मङ्गलं कलशं तथा । . महावाद्यस्य निर्घोपं व्रजेद्धमजिनालये ॥ ९४ ॥ ततः पारभ्य सद्विमान् जिनालये नियोजयेत् । प्रतिदिनं स पूजार्थ यावन्नालं प्रच्छेदयेत् ।। ९५ ॥ दानेन तर्पयेत्सर्वान् भट्टान् भिक्षुजनान् पिता। वस्त्रभूषणताम्बूलैः स्वजनात् सकलानपि ॥ ९६ ॥ मुखमालोक्य पुत्रस्य पात्रे क्षीराज्यशर्कराः । . संमिश्य पञ्चकृत्वस्तं पाशयेत्काञ्चनेन सः ॥ ९७ ॥ स्त्रीपुत्रयोश्च कर्मैवं कर्तव्यं द्रव्यमात्रकम् ।
ब्रह्मसूत्रे धृतं नालं तेनावेष्टय निकृन्तयेत् ।। ९८ ॥ पुत्रका जन्म होनेपर उसका पिता बड़े हर्षसे प्रथम आचमन करे। बाद प्राणायाम करके फिर आचमन करे। फिर पूजा-सामग्री और मंगल-कलश लेकर गाजेबाजेके साथ जिन-मंदिर जावे। उस दिनसे जबतक नालछेद क्रिया न हो तबतक प्रतिदिन पूजा करनेके लिए सदाचारी ब्राह्मणोंकी नियोजना करे, भाटों भिक्षुकों आदिको दान देकर सन्तुष्ट करे, और अपने सारे कुटुंबी जनोंको वस्त्र आभूषण और तांबूलसे संतुष्ट करे । पुत्रका मुख देखकर एक पात्रमें दूध घी और शक्कर मिलाकर सोनेको चिमची अथवा दूसरे किसी सोनेके पानसे पांच दफे उस बच्चे के मुंहमें डाले । यह विधि पुत्रीके लिए भी मंत्र आदिका उच्चारण न कर सिर्फ क्रियामात्ररूप की जाय। इसके बाद नालको ब्रह्मसूत्र (जनेऊ) में लपेटकर नालच्छेद करे ॥ ९३-९८ ॥
ततस्तन्नाभिनालं तु शुचिस्थाने निवेशयेत् । . .
रत्नमुक्ताफलद्रव्ययुक्तं भूमौ मुदा पिता ॥ ९९ ॥ पश्चात् पिता हर्षयुक्त होकर उस नालको रत्न और मोतीके साथ पवित्र भूमिमें गाड़े ॥ ९९ ॥
प्रसूतौ वनिताऽगारे चतुरङ्गुलमात्रकम् । त्यक्त्वा मृदं मृदा शुच्या. गोमयेन तु लेपयेत् ।। १०० ॥ पञ्चकल्कजलैरुष्णैः सा संस्नायात्सुतान्विता । तौ तृतीये तृतीयेऽन्हि शुचित्वमेवमाचरेताम् ॥ १०१ ॥

**99.** "Then, the father should joyfully place the umbilical cord in a pure place, along with gems, pearls, and other valuables, in the ground."

**100.** "After giving birth, the woman should stay in her room and apply a mixture of pure earth and cow dung to the area where the child was born, for a length of four fingers."

**101.** "She should bathe with warm water mixed with five types of auspicious substances, along with her child. They should both maintain purity in this way on the third and third day."
