Traivarṇikācāra. Vāna rakṣaka is. Puṃsavana, sīmanta, caula, upanayana, garbhādhāna and pramoda in these rites, nāndī maṅgala must be performed. 80-83
Garbhiṇī ke dharma. . . bhūmyāṃ caivovaneecāya mārohaṇavirohane. nadīmāraṇaṃ caiva śakaṭārohagaṃ tathā. 84 auṣadhaṃ tathā kṣāraṃ bhāravāhanam.
kṛpe mugnavane cana adhigo pārevajayeta. 85. In the fifth month, after the puṃsavana has been performed, the pregnant woman should not climb or descend high or low ground, cross a flowing river, get on a cart, consume strong medicines, eat salty substances, engage in sexual intercourse, or carry heavy loads. 84-85
Pati ke dharma. puṃso bhāryā garbhiṇī yasya cāsau. sūnoścaulaṃ kṣaurakarmaātmanaśca. gehārambhaṃ stambhasaṃsthāpanaṃ ca. vṛddhisthānaṃ dūrayātrāṃ na kuryāt. 86. The husband of a pregnant woman should not perform the caula ceremony for his son, get a shave himself, start construction of a new house, erect pillars, or undertake long journeys. 86
śavasya dāhanaṃ tasya dahanaṃ sindhudarśanam. parvātārohanaṃ caiva na kuryādarbhiṇīpatiḥ. 87 māsāttu pañcamādūrdhvaṃ tasyāḥ saṅgaṃ vivārjayeta. ṛtudvaye vyatīte tu na kuryānmaujeevandhanam. 88 garbhiṇyāmapi bhāryāyāṃ vīryapātaṃ vivārjayeta. aṣṭa māsātparaṃ caiva na kuryācchraddhabhojanaṃ. 89 kṣauraṃ caula maujivandhaṃ varjayedgarbhiṇīpatiḥ. 87-89. The husband of a pregnant woman should not cremate a dead body, see the ocean, climb mountains, have sexual intercourse with his wife after the fifth month, perform the upanayana ceremony for his son before four months have passed, emit semen in his pregnant wife, participate in śrāddha feasts after the eighth month, or perform the kṣaura, caula, and upanayana rites. There is no fault in performing the caula ceremony for the son of a different wife who is not pregnant. 87-90
Prīti, suprīti and priyodbhava rites. Putrajenmani sañjāte prītisupretike kriye. priyodbhavaśca sottsāhaḥ kartavyo jātakarmaṇi. 91. On the birth of a son, the rites of prīti, suprīti, and priyodbhava should be enthusiastically performed.
