त्रैवर्णिकाचार। यह मंत्र पढ़कर गर्भिणीके सामने दूध, दही, भात और हल्दीके पानीसे भरे हुए तीन कलश स्थापन कराकर छोटी बालिकाके हाथसे उन कलशोंका स्पर्शन करावे । वह बालिका यदि दूध भरे कलशको हाथ लगावे तो पुत्रोत्पत्ति समझना । यदि वह दही भात भरे कलशको हाथ लगावे तो पुत्री समझना। और यदि हल्दीके जलसे भरे हुए कलशको हाथ लगावे तो दोनोंकी अप्राप्ति समझे अर्थात् या तो नपुंसक हो, या बीचहीमें गर्भ गिर जाय, या होकर मर जाय, इत्यादि समझना।
ततः प्रभृति गेहे स्वे वाद्यघोष प्रघोपयेत् ।
गीतं च नर्तकीनृत्यं दानं कुर्यादीनं प्रति ॥७१ ॥ उस दिनसे हर रोज अपने घर पर बाजे बजघावे, गीत गवाने, नाचनेपालियोंका नाच करावे और प्रतिदिन दान करता रहे ॥ ७१ ॥
सीमन्त क्रिया। । अथ सप्तमके मासे सीमन्तविधिरुच्यते । केशमध्ये तु गर्भिण्याः सीमा सीमन्तमुच्यते ॥ ७२ ।। शुभेऽन्हि शुभनक्षत्रे सुवारे शुभयोगके ।
सुलग्ने सुघटिकायां सीमन्तविधिमाचरेत् ॥७३॥ सातवें महीने में सीमंतविधि की जाती है । गर्मिणी स्त्रीके सिरके केशोंके बीचमें मांग पाइनेको सीमंत कहते हैं । यह विधि शुभ दिन, शुभ नक्षत्र, शुभ वार, शुभ योग, शुभ लम और शुभ मुहूर्तमें की जाना चाहिए ॥ ७२-७३ ॥
स्नातां प्रसादितां कान्तमन्तर्वत्नी च सत्मियान । प्रत्यगासनगां कृत्वा होमं प्राग्वत्प्रकल्पयेत् ।। ७४ ॥ पतिपुत्रवती वृद्धा स्वजातीया कुलोद्भवा ।।
गर्भिण्याः केशमध्ये तु सीमन्तं त्रिः समुन्नयेत् ॥ ७५ ॥ स्नान कराकर वस्त्र आभूपण आदिसे सुसजित कर उस कमनीय सुन्दर गर्भवतीको पति अपने पास अलग आसनपर बैठाकर पहलेकी तरह होमादि कार्य करे | और सधवा पुत्रवती अपनी ' जातिकी कुलीन वृद्ध स्त्रियाँ उस गर्भवती स्त्रीके सिरमें तीन बार मांग पाड़े ॥ ७४-७५ ॥
साधनं फलवगुच्छद्वयदर्भत्रयान्विता। . शलाका खादिराऽऽज्याक्ता सीमन्तोन्नयने भवेत् ॥७६ ॥ समिद्वा कुड्मलाभाया शमीक्षसमुद्भवा । त्रिस्थानधवलाकारा शलली वा तथा भवेत् ॥ ७७॥ तेन तैलासिन्दूरैः सीमन्तं चोनयेच सा । धवस्त्वौदुम्बरं चूर्ण क्षिपेत्तन्मूर्ध्नि चोदरे ॥ ७८ ॥ तदुम्बरकृतां मालां सीमन्तिन्या गले गुरुः। सिस्वा स्विष्टकृतायन्यत्सर्व प्राग्वत्मकल्पयेत् ॥ ७९ ॥
