... . मांसभार (देड ), मदिराके वर्तन आदिसे आठ हाथ, मनुष्य और तिर्यंचोंके दुर्गन्धियुक्त मुर्दे शरीरसे बीस हाथ दूर चलेअस्पृश्य लोगोंके घरकी भस्म, धूली, धूम, तुष आदिको न छूता हुआ जीवदयामें तत्पर त्रैवर्णिक श्रावक अपने घर पर जावे । भावार्थ-इन श्लोकोंमें ऊँच नीच दोनों तरहके मनुष्योंको न छूनेका उपदेश इस लिए है कि उसे आगे चलकर अपने चैत्यालयमें पूजा करना है ॥ १२ ॥ १३॥
घर बनानेकी विधि। विजातिम्लेच्छशूद्राणां गेहाद्दूरं भवेगृहम् ।
काष्ठधूमादिसंसर्ग न कुर्यात्कुड्यमेलनम् ॥ १४ ॥ विजाति लोग, म्लेच्छ ( मुसलमान आदि) और शूद्र इनके घरोंसे अपना घर कुछ फासले पर बनवावे । उनके घरोंकी लकड़ी, धूआँ आदिका सम्पर्क अपने घरसे न होने दे । तथा उनके घरोंकी दीवालसे सटाकर अपने घरकी दीवाल न बनावे ॥ १४ ॥
तेषां हि श्रूयते शब्दो हिंसादिदृष्टवाचकः । केशास्थिचर्मदुःस्पर्शी न भवेत्त्वं तथा कुरु ॥ १५ ॥
जिससे कि इसको मारो, इसको काटो आदि दुष्ट वचन सुनाई न दे सके । तथा ऐसा प्रयत्न करे कि जिससे केश, हड्डी, चर्म आदिका संसर्ग न हो सके ॥ १५ ॥
तेषां जलप्रवाहस्य नीचभागं विवर्जयेत् ।
मानिनां पापशीलानां सक्तानां दुष्टसङ्गतौ ॥ १६ ॥ जिधरको उन नीच जातीय मनुष्योंके धरका जल बहकर जाता. हो उधरको अपना घर न वनवावे । तथा मानी, पापी और बुरी सोहबतमें लगे हुए मनुष्योंके घरोंके पास भी अपना घर न बनवावे ॥ १६॥ . .
नगरस्यान्त्यसम्भागे न कुर्यागृहबन्धनम् । .
भषकसकरादीनां प्रवेशो न हि सौख्यदः ॥ १७॥ मगरके बाहर भी अपना घर न बनवावे, क्योंकि नगरके बाहर मकान होनेसे कुत्ते, सूअर आदि घरोंमें घुस जाते हैं। इनका घरोंमें घुसना शुभ नहीं है ॥ १७ ॥
सङ्कीर्णमार्ग उच्छिष्टमलमूत्रादिदूषितः । वेश्यातस्करव्याघ्रादिसम्बन्धं दूरतस्त्यजेत् ॥ १८॥
