________________ 66 APPENDIX I. not have been an inhabitant of the village Nasarathapur, the residence of Rājā Saranāma Sinha, in wliose favour he composed Basanta-yilāsa. The date of the composition is 1866 Samvat=1809 A.D. The Rājā’s genealogy is traced to Teja Simha Parihāra, whose brother Sera Sāha ruled at Nasarathapur on the northern side of the Ganges. The manuscript. at one place gives the time as 1866 and at another .1870 Sanfvat. The former seems to be the time of the beginning and the latter of the end of the work. · No. 204. VYĀSA MOHANADĀSA was a devotee of the Rādbā-Ballabhi sect and lived at Orchha. While at Brindāvana he founded a new sect called Hari-Vyāsa. The only work of his that has beon found is Vyāsa ki Bāni. No. 205. YUGALA-MANJARĪ alius Yugala Ali was a duvotee of Ayodhyā. The only work of his that has been found is Bhāvanāmțita-kādambini. His time is unknown. No. 206. YUGALAPRASĀDA KĀyastha composed the Vinaya-vātikā. His nom-de-pluie appears to be Patita. The date of the manuscript is 1829 A.1). He must have therefore flourished before that timą.
