meritorious poet Räjā Mukta, who was honoured by Akbar. Gañjana belonged to Benāres and was a Gūjar Gaur by caste.
No. 63. GOVINDADĀSA, believed to be born about 1615 Samvat which is equal to 1557 A.D., wrote a book Ekānta Pada or devotional verses. The language contains some forms of words prevalent towards Benāres.
No. 64. GOPĀLADĀSA wrote a book of prayers' which ho called Parmādi Binti warning against dilatoriness in praying. He appears to be different from several poets of the same name. At any rate there is no material at present to identify him with the Gopālas noted in S. R. 1909-11 and 1900.
No. 65, GWALA, son of Sewärāma, flourished about 1820 A.D). He composed many books of which four, viz., (1) Alankārā-bhrama-bhañjana, (2) Bhakta-bhāvanā, (3) Kavi darpaņa and (4) Bansībīgā are noticed here. Of these the first two, were noticed in S. R. 1905 and the third in that of 1909-11 under a slightly different name as Dūshaņa-darpaņa. His other books noticed before, some of which are in his own handwriting, are Jamunā-lahari, Srikrishṇaji ko Naklasikha, Gopi-pachchisi, (see nos. 88, 89 and 90 of 1901) and Rasaranga and Hannirahatha (see nos. 88 and 90 of 1905). The first three aro included in Bhakta-bhāvanā which is a collection of Gwāla's verses. He was a prolific writer of note and a popular poet. He tried to rival Padmākara.
No. 66, HAJŪRI SANTA wrote a book named Yoga. adbhuta-sāra of which the manuscript is dated 1946 Samvat or 1889 A.D.
No. 67. HANSA appears to be a newly discovered poet, whose songs have been found, which are much inferior in diction to the verses and songs written by Hamsarāja Bakshi of Pannā, with whom some literati are inclinod to identify
