अयं हि चारित्रमय च धर्मों योगस्य चाय प्रति पत्तिमार्गः । ज्ञानस्य भक्ते च फल प्रपक्वमुपासनासक्रिययोरय च ।।
* આ (સંયમ) જ ચારિત્ર છે, એ જ ધર્મ છે, એ જગને માર્ગ છે અને એ જ જ્ઞાન, ભક્તિ, ઉપાસના, કર્મ એ બધાંનું પરિપકવ ફળ છે. ૯
* This very Samyama is right conduct, right Dharma (religion) and the primary and essential way to Yoga, and the ripened fruit of knowledge, worship devotion and the performance of virtuous acts or religious rites. 9
