The body is material, and hence it is evidently disposed to be disordered. It is also pained by diseases arising again and again. Also it has some times to suffer acute pains by accidents. Having perceived this aptitude of the body to bad changes
the ancient sages desirous of perfect happiness, longed for the state of final emancipation in order to be free from the troubles of body, because in that state there is no misery in the least on account of the complete absence of body. 5-6-7
