* If there be not rebirth, a well-conducted person is not at any loss. (Owing to his goodness he would always enjoy renown and health peace and happiness.) And if there be rebirth, that person will be permanently happy in the next world by the good character preserved by him in his present life. 18

* And, on the other hand, if there be rebirth, the person who is ill-conducted, will fall into a terrible abyss of misery. And if there be not rebirth even then the person without improving his character cannot be happy in his present life. 19
Rebirth may exist or may not, good character is always completely useful. It leads to happiness here as well as here-after. 20
[It is easy to understand how useful good character is in the achievement of well-being individual as well as sociai. ]
