Just as the names of many stotras like "Bhaktamar" are derived from their initial syllables, this text is called "Devagam" because it begins with the words "Devagam." Alternatively, this text is called "Devagam" because it reveals the essence of the Arhant Devas, making their nature clear and unveiling their mysteries. This text contains 114 verses or karikas.
