अंथसे बाहरकी चीज समझ लिया। साथ ही तेरह*पद्योंको और भी उन्हीं जैसे मानकर उन्हें उसी कोटिमें शामिल कर दिया और इस तरहपर इक्कीसकी जगह अट्ठाईस पद्योंको 'क्षेपक' करार देकर उन्हें 'उपासकाध्ययन' की उस प्रथमावृत्तिसे बिलकुल ही निकाल डाला छापा तक भी नहीं-जिसको उन्होंने शक सं० १८२६ (वि० सं० १९६१) में मराठी अनुवादसहित प्रकाशित किया था। . इसके बाद नाग साहबने अपनी बुद्धिको और भी उसी मार्गमें दौड़ाया और तब आपको अन्धकारमें ही-विना किसी आधार प्रमाणके यह सूझ पड़ा कि इस ग्रंथमें और भी कुछ क्षेपक हैं जिन्हें ग्रंथसे बाहर निकाल देना चाहिये । साथ ही, यह भी मालूम पड़ा कि निकाले हुए पद्योंमेंसे कुछका फिरसे ग्रंथमें प्रवेश कराना चाहिये । और इस लिये पिछले साल, शक सं० १८४४ (वि० सं० १९७९) में जब आपने इस ग्रंथकी द्वितीयावृत्ति प्रकाशित कराई तब आपने अपनी उस सूझ बूझको कार्यमें परिणत कर डाला अर्थात्, प्रथमावृत्तिवाले २८ पद्योंमेंसे २३ + और २६ । नये इस प्रकार ४९ x पद्योंको उत्त . * उन तेरह पद्योंकी सूची इस प्रकार है
