Kasaya Pahuda Sutta
[384. These are other means of showing the less or more of the bondage of the passions. 385. That is to say, the duration of the exhaustion of the deluding karmas of conduct is infinite. 386. The duration of the non-origination of the infinite-fold karmas is infinite. 387. The duration of the subsidence of the deluding karmas of conduct is infinite-fold. 388. The duration of the non-origination of the infinite-fold karmas is infinite. 389. The duration of the exhaustion of the deluding karmas of faith is infinite-fold. 390. The duration of the non-origination of the infinite-fold karmas is infinite. 391. The duration of the separation of the anantanubandhi passions is infinite-fold. 392. The duration of the non-origination of the infinite-fold karmas is infinite. 393. After destroying the deluding karmas of faith for a period of innumerable-fold time, the bondage of the female sex-passion came to an end, and then he began the bondage of the neuter sex-passion. Thus, binding the neuter sex-passion along with laughter and love, after a period of innumerable-fold time from the previous bondage, the bondage of laughter and love came to an end. Then he began the bondage of the neuter sex-passion along with aversion and grief. Thus, binding the neuter sex-passion along with aversion and grief, after a period of innumerable-fold time from the previous bondage, both the bondage of the neuter sex-passion and the bondage of aversion and grief came to an end together. The less or more of the bondage of the non-passions of the said soul will be as follows - the bondage of the male sex-passion is the least, i.e. 2; the bondage of the female sex-passion is innumerable-fold, i.e. 8; the bondage of laughter and love is innumerable-fold, i.e. 32; the bondage of aversion and grief is innumerable-fold, i.e. 128; and the bondage of the neuter sex-passion is particularly more, i.e. 150. Since the durations of the bondage of the seven non-passions are dissimilar, their places of subsistence are also dissimilar. Therefore, it is self-evident that though the places of subsistence of the highest karmas are similar in the case of the wrong-believer soul, yet the places of subsistence of the lowest karmas are dissimilar and more.]
The Churni Sutra then states that other means of showing the less or more of the bondage of the passions should also be explained. These are as follows:
- The duration of the non-origination of the karmas exhausting the deluding karmas of conduct is the least among all the mentioned durations.
- The duration of the origination of the new karmas after the exhaustion of the deluding karmas of conduct is innumerable-fold.
- The duration of the non-origination of the karmas subsiding the deluding karmas of conduct is innumerable-fold.
- The duration of the origination of the new karmas after the subsidence of the deluding karmas of conduct is innumerable-fold.
- The duration of the non-origination of the karmas exhausting the deluding karmas of faith is innumerable-fold.
- The duration of the origination of the new karmas after the exhaustion of the deluding karmas of faith is innumerable-fold.
- The duration of the non-origination of the karmas separating the anantanubandhi passions is innumerable-fold.
- The duration of the origination of the new karmas after the separation of the anantanubandhi passions is innumerable-fold.
