## Kasaya Pahud Sutra
**[2 Prakriti Vibhakti]**
- **63.** One should know the owners of the divisions of the states of being, which are two, three, four, five, eleven, twelve, and thirteen in number.
- **64.** Who is the owner of the division of twenty-one states of being? It is the Jiva who has destroyed the Darshan Mohaniya Karma (karma that obscures knowledge and delusion).
- **65.** Who is the owner of the division of twenty-two states of being? It is the Jiva who is a Samyakdrishti (perfectly enlightened) and has destroyed Mithyatva (false belief) and Samyak Mithyatva (partially false belief), and still has the residue of Samyaktva (right belief), whether it is a man or a woman.
**60**
**Churnisu:** In the same way, one should know the owners of the divisions of the states of being, which are two, three, four, five, eleven, twelve, and thirteen in number. **63**
**Special Meaning:** Just as the owner of one division has been described, in the same way, the owners of the divisions of the states of being, which are two to thirteen in number, are also human beings, whether male or female, according to the rules. Because, it is impossible for the results of Karma-Kshapan (destruction of karma) to occur in any other Gati (state of existence) except the human Gati. Therefore, one should know the owners of the divisions of two, three, etc., as mentioned in the sutras, just like the owner of one division, which is one state of being. The only difference is that the division of five states of being occurs only in humans, not in women, because their seven Nockpayas (types of karma) are destroyed simultaneously.
**Churnisu:** Who is the owner of the division of twenty-one states of being? It is the Jiva who has destroyed the Darshan Mohaniya Karma (karma that obscures knowledge and delusion), the Kshayik Samyakdrishti (perfectly enlightened Jiva). **64**
**Churnisu:** Which Jiva is the owner of the division of twenty-two states of being? It is the Jiva who is a Samyakdrishti (perfectly enlightened) and has destroyed Mithyatva (false belief) and Samyak Mithyatva (partially false belief), and still has the residue of Samyaktva (right belief), whether it is a man or a woman, who is a Kritakritya Vedak (one who has achieved the goal). **65**
**Special Meaning:** Here, the word "man" refers to Purushavedi (male) and Napumsakvedi (neuter), and the word "woman" refers to Strivedi (female) humans. Therefore, here and in the future, wherever these words are used, one should understand them as Bhavanapumsakvedi (male in thought) and Bhavastrivedi (female in thought) humans. Because, the ascent of the Kshapak श्रेणी (category of destroyers) of the Dravyavedi (materialistic) Napumsak (neuter) or Stri (female), and the destruction of Darshan Mohaniya (karma that obscures knowledge and delusion), etc., are prohibited by certain rules. Here, one might wonder that a Kritakritya Vedak Samyakdrishti can be born in all four Gatis (states of existence) after death, then how can he be called the owner of the division of twenty-two states of being, only a man or a woman? This has been explained in two ways. One is that, according to some Acharyas (teachers), a Kritakritya Vedak Samyakdrishti Jiva does not die at all, therefore, the word "man" has been used in the sutra. Some Acharyas believe that a Kritakritya Vedak dies and can be born in all four Gatis. According to them, the word "man" used in the sutra should be understood as meaning that the beginning of the destruction of Darshan Moh (karma that obscures knowledge and delusion) occurs only in humans. However, the Nishthapan (final destruction) can occur in all four Gatis. Yativrupbhacharya has further mentioned these two teachings.
