## Kasaya Pahud Sutta (172)
7. The first (āvaliya) is purified by the practice of the vows, and the rising (udaya) etc.
The rising (udaya) etc. are counted by the qualities, beginning with the counting (gaṇanādi). ||225|| (173) 8. There are infinite groups (vagaṇā) that rise (udīredi), and one (ekka) merges (sankamati) into them.
The purified (puchapaviṭṭha) vows become one (ekisse) and infinite (aṇantā). ||226|| (174) 9. Whatever (yā) minute parts (aṇubhāgā) are raised (udīridā) by the practice of the vows,
Those (teyappā) minute parts (aṇubhāgā) become purified (puchapaciṭṭha) and merge (pariṇamanti). ||227|| (175) 10. In the last (pacchima) āvaliya, at the time of merging (samayūṇāe), the two (duje) minute parts (aṇubhāgā),
Become purified (pariṇamanti) in the lower (heṭṭhima) and middle (majjhimāsu) vows. ||228||
## 4 Mūlagāhā (176)
Does the attachment (kiṭṭido) merge (sankamati) by the body (khaeṇa) or by the practice (payogeṇa)?
Does the attachment (kiṭṭi) merge (sankramo) into the remaining (sesagamhi) or into something else (aṇṇisse)? ||229||
## Bhāsagāhā (177)
1. The attachment (kiṭṭido) merges (sankramati) by the practice of the vows (ṇiyamasa payogeṇa).
The attachment (kiṭṭi) to the remaining (sesagam) is bound (baddham) in the two (do) āvaliyas. ||230|| (178) 2. The purified (paviṭṭha) āvaliya becomes the first attachment (paḍhamakiṭṭi).
When it is destroyed (cedayade), then there are two (do) mergers (sankame). ||231||
## 1 Khīṇalohapaḍiyaddhā Sūlagāhā (179)
What (ke) is the state (hoti) of the remaining (sesāṇam) in the exhausted (khīṇe) passions (kasāyesu)?
Is it (vā) exhausted (khavaṇā) or not exhausted (akhavaṇā), or is it (vā) bound (bandho) and rising (udaya) and decaying (nijjarā)? ||232||
## 1 Sanghaṇī Mūlagāhā (180)
The merging (sankāmaṇa) and liberation (mocaṭṭaṇa) are the exhaustion (khīṇayoham) of the attachment (kiṭṭikhavaṇāe).
The hearing (sravaṇā) and the understanding (āṇupucī) are to be known (boddhā) for the delusion (mohaṇīyassa). ||233||
