By his catholic outlook, readiness to correct himself, unbiased approach and balanced judgement, Pt. Premi is a model research scholar who is more after facts than mere ingenuity of interpretation and argument. Premiji never entered the portals of any College, nor did he get the advantage of studying in any University; he is, however, a self-made scholar who has taught himself, all through his career, by modest devotion to study and rigorous habits of work.
The quality of his work gives him a respectable place with our eminent scholars like Bhagawanlal Indraji and Gaurishankar Ojha. The Hindi language too should consider itself richer by this valuable work which contains solid facts of abiding interest and results of patient labour. Pt. Premiji has earned our gratitude by this publication.
Due to war conditions he had to withhold some of his notes, and publish the book as it stands now. I pray for a long and healthy life to Pt. Premiji that he might further enrich the field of Indian studies by his contributions.
