Badhi Chand Ji Mandir Granth Bhandar
This Bhandar belongs to the Jaina mandir of Badhi Chand ji at the third crossing of GHEEWALAN KA KASTA, Johari Bazar, Jaipur. The establishment of the Bhandar goes back to the year 1735 A.D. It contains 1278 manuscripts including 162 GUTKAS, in APABHRAMSA, PRAKRIT, Sanskrit, and Hindi. The collection mainly deals with the subjects like Purana, Puja, Pratistha, Katha, Kavya, etc. The works written by Kalidas, Kabir, Kesavadasa and Bihari constitute the worthy collections of the Bhandar.
It is significant to note that the famous Pandit Todarmal and his son Gumani Ram wrote their works here and presented their writings to the Bhandar.1
EARLIEST AND LATEST MANUSCRIPT
The earliest manuscript available in the Bhandar is the commentary on VDDHAMANA KAVYA written in Samvat 1431. This is a Sanskrit commentary on Apabhiramsa work. The latest manuscript is ABHAIDWIPA PUJA which was written in Samvat 1987.
Some notable manuscripts are still unpublished and others are rare one. The manuscript of HARIVANSA PURANA an Apabhramsa work of Mahakavi Swayambhu, is in the collection of this Bhandar. This is onc of the rare manuscripts of the three or four copies available throughout India. The commentary on VADDHMANA KAVYA in Sanskrit is also rare one. Manuscript of PRADYUMANA CHARITA, a Hindi work composed in 1354 A. D. is also a rare one written by Sadharu in Hindi. Gutkas of this Bhandar possess several small works of Hindi scholars.
