5. Even though Eddington accepts the real existence of " material world, bis concept about its pature is not clear. He
does not deny objectivity of the material bodies, all the same he believes colour etc, to be more subjective attributes. On this point, Jain Philosophy greatly differs from his view, for the former asserts matter as well as its qualities of colour, etc. to be objective.
6. The modern Physics has failed to apprehend the exact Dature of the ultimate unit of matter. Thus, Eddington's Philosophy is based on the imperfect knowledge of present Physics. On the other hand, the Jain seers have made assertions about the ultimate atom only often having perceived it directly though their transcendental knowledge.
