( 72 ) Alu, illa, ulla, ála, vanta, and inta are substituted for mcatup, the affix signifying possession ; as ईमालू, (ईर्षावान्) णिद्दालू (निद्रावान् ); विद्यारिलो (विकारवान ); धणालो (धनवान् ); इत्यादि।
यथादर्शनमेते प्रयोकव्या न सर्वे सर्वत्र ।
These various substitutes for matup must not be used indiscriminately, but with a due regard to the forms observed in classical authors.
दूल्लोल्ला वपरे प्रायः शैषिकेषु प्रयुंजते others use the substitutes illa and ulla in the sense of the affixes technically called scishikaa (see pan. IV. 2, 92 or siddhantakaumudi taddhita seshaprakaranam) as पुरिल्लं (पौरस्त्यं पुरोभवं); अपपुल्ल (आत्मीयं);
॥ वतेवः ।। ११ । वतेः स्थाने व्व इत्यादेशो भवति । bb is substitutes for the affix vati, as महुव्व (मधुवत् )।
