अर्कः; वग्गो वर्ग: ल-अधः मणहं लक्षणं ; विक्कवो
विक्लवः व-अधः पिकं पक्क; धत्थ ध्वस्तं
चक्क चक्र; गहो
रात्रिः रत्ती। Exception ;-In the word chandra. ?' is not elided, as
चंद्रो चन्दः (१)। अत्र 'द' इत्यादिसंयुक्तानामुभय लोपप्राप्तौ यथादर्शनं लोपः ।
According to the preceeding sútra in such conjunct as do &c. both the first and last letters are subject to elision. In such cases we have only to follow ancient authorities to elide either of them, thus face in some instances the first letter is elided, as उब्विग्गो (उद्विग्नः); विउणो (दिगुण:); कम्ममं (कल्मषं); सव्वं (सर्व) ;-क्वचिदधःin some instances the last is elided as कव्वं (काव्य); कुल्ला (कुल्या) ; मल्ल (माल्य); दिनो (दिपः) ; दुबाई (द्विजातिः); क्वचित्
zirgu in some instances the elision of either is good, as वारं, दारं (हार);
। We find the form चंदी in many manuscripts.
