अध्याय -3
व्यवहार से आत्मा पुद्गल का कर्ता है -
उप्पादेदि करेदि य बंधदि परिणामएदि गिण्हदि य। आदा पोंग्गलदव्वं ववहारणयस्स वत्तव्वं॥ (3-39-107)
आत्मा पुद्गल द्रव्य को उपजाता है, कराता है, बाँधता है, परिणमन कराता है और ग्रहण करता है, यह व्यवहार नय का कथन है।
That the soul originates, produces, binds, changes the modes, and assimilates the karmic matter is said from the empirical point of view (vyavahāra naya).
दृष्टान्तपूर्वक व्यवहार का कथन -
जय राया ववहारा दोसगुणुप्पादगो त्ति आलविदो। तह जीवो ववहारा दव्वगुणुप्पादगो भणिदो॥
(3-40-108)
जैसे राजा (प्रजा में) दोष और गुणों का उत्पन्न करने वाला है, यह व्यवहार से कहा जाता है; उसी प्रकार जीव व्यवहार से द्रव्य और गुणों का उत्पादक कहा गया है।
As a king is metaphorically said to be the producer of vice or virtue in his subjects, similarly, the soul is said to be the producer of the substance and quality of the physical matter from the empirical point of view.
