5) One should think out and determine what inappropriate usages have crept in, in one's own system of religion during the long course of time and then try to discard them.
धर्मस्याऽऽराधनं युक्तमुचितै रूढिकर्मभिः । कुर्वतस्तदयोग्यैस्तु परिम्लायति दर्शनम्
॥ ७६ ॥
વ્યવહાર અને નિશ્ચય જોડાયેલા છે, એટલે વ્યવહારનું અનુકરણ તે ધર્મ સાથે છે જ; પણ ઉચિત રીતિ, પ્રણાલી કે રૂઢિને આશ્રય લેવાથી ધર્મનું આરાધન થાય, અનુચિત રૂઢિના માર્ગે ન થાય. અગ્ય રૂઢિઓને પિષવાથી તો દશન મલિન થાય. (૭૬)
(76) It is proper to perform Dharme by doiog actions sanctioned by traditional usages wbich are not improper. But if it is sought to be done by actions which are improper, the Darshana (understanding) becomes blurred and soiled.
साम्प्रदायिकशाखासु भवन्त्येव क्रियाभिदः । नैव तत्राऽऽग्रहो युक्तो न विरुध्येत वा ततः
॥७७ ।।
સામ્પ્રદાયિક શાખાઓમાં ક્રિયાભેદ હોય જ, અને રહેવાના જ. એને માટે હઠવાદ રાખ એગ્ય નથી. એને સારુ વિધ ન કરીએ. (૭૭)
(77) Different systems of religion have undoubtedly different observances and rituals and such differences will always remain. This is a thing which is not to be wondered at. Obstinacy in regard to the practice of any of them alone is unreasopa ble and improper. So we should not quarrel with the differing rituals practised by others.
