अध्यात्मतत्याकोंकः
ધીજૈવહિંપ્રમુણા મા વિશા-રાઘવછન્નતિયા વિનંત છે ते सार्वभौमा उदिता महावतं वितर्क-बाधे प्रतिपक्ष-भावनम् ॥ ७८ ॥
૭૮. આ અહિંસા આદિ યમે દેશ, કાળ વગેરેની મર્યાદા વગરના સાર્વ. ભૌમ બને છે ત્યારે “મહાવ્રત” કહેવાય છે. “વિતર્ક એટલે હિંસા આદિ દે, એ દે તરફથી બાધા આવતાં પ્રતિપક્ષ અહિંસા આદિ) તત્ત્વોની ભાવના કરવી.
78. When these Yumnas (Alinzi and others) are not delimited or controllei ly the exigenres of time and place etc., they constiute the Great Vows (197) in their highest conception, applicable in all plain and at all mes (mga). When perverse witae ail us, we should coolti fact them by thinking about ibeir opposites (Ahinand viber),
वितर्कवाधे प्रतिपक्ष-भावनाद् योगस्य सौकर्यमवेक्ष्य योगिनः । यमेषु योगस्य प्रभाषिरेऽङ्गतां विनापनेता प्रथमं हि युज्यते ।। ७९ ।।
૭૯. પ્રતિપક્ષની ભાવનાથી અર્થાત્ અહિંસા આદિ સદ્દગુણેની અમૃતરૂપ ભાવનાના ઉત્કર્ષથી “વિત’ પર અર્થાત્ હિંસા આદિ દુર્ભા ઉપર દાબ પડતાં યોગભૂમિ ઉપરનું પ્રસ્થાન સરળ થાય છે. એટલા માટે યમ–નિયમને યોગનાં અંગ બતાવવામાં આવ્યાં છે; કારણ કે વિઘોને હઠાવનારની પહેલી જરૂર હોય.
79. Perverse ideas (feat) are removed by pondering over their opposites and thus the path ni Yoga is rendered easier. Therefore the pages regard the Yarras as forcing tbe purt and parcel of Yoga. It is bat proper that the remover of in pediments should rec-ive first preference.
