अध्यात्मतत्वालोकः
desires. ( The sovereignty of the world is not so very difficult as is the virtue of contentment. )
न तत् सुखं विभ्रति प्रभुजोऽपि न तत् सुखं स्वर्गसदो न चन्द्राः । यस्मिन सुखे तुष्टमनःप्रभूते विवेकिनो निर्गमयन्ति काल ॥ २९ ॥
૨૯તે સુખ રોજાઓને નથી, અને તે સુખ દેવતાઓ તથા ઈન્દ્રોને પણ નથી, કે જે આત્મસન્તોષજનિત સુખમાં વિવેકી લોકે કાલ-નિગમન કરે છે.
29. The wise piss their time in the happiness derived from contentment. This sort of happiness is superior to that enjoyed by even kings, gods and Indras.
कामोद्भवं शर्म यदस्ति लोके दिव्यं च देवालयसङ्गत यत् । तृष्णाक्षयोद्भूतसुखश्रियोऽग्रे खद्योतवद् भानुमतस्तदल्पम् ॥ ३० ॥
૩૦ લોકમાં જે વૈશ્વિક સુખ છે અને સ્વર્ગનું જે દેવતાઈ વૈષયિક સુખ છે, તે તૃષ્ણાક્ષયજનિત સુખની આગળ, સૂર્ય આગળ આગીયાના સરખું તુચ્છ છે.
30. The happiness arising from sense-pleasures in this world B8 also happiness derived from heavenly enjoyments in the heavens are decidedly much inferior to that derived from the total cessation of desires, just as the light of a fire-fly to that of the sun.
इहास्ति को नाम विधाय सत्र ममत्वभावं सुखमाप्नुयाम ? सर्वेऽपि मोहावरणावृताश्च करोतु खल्वात्महितं कुतः कः ? ॥ ३१ ॥
૩૧ સંસારમાં એવું કે છે કે જેના પર મમત્વ કરી સુખ પામીએ? બધા મહાવરણનાં બન્થનથી બદ્ધ છે. કોણ કોની પાસેથી માહિતી સાધી શકે?
